Method

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear.

  4. Add the garlic and fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the coriander powder and turmeric powder and fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Add the cashew nuts and fry for 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.
  7. Add the rice to the pan and stir well to coat with the spices and vegetables.
  8. Add the water and salt to the pan and stir well.
  9. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid.
  10. Simmer the rice for 20-25 minutes until the water is fully absorbed and the rice is tender.
  11. Remove the pan from the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
