- 1 lb. corn kernels
- 1 lb. beans
- 1 lb. pork or beef (or both)
- 1 lb. chorizo
- 1 lb. bacon
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste

- Large pot
- Frying pan
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Wooden spoon
Method
- Soak the beans overnight in water.
- Drain the beans and place them in a large pot with enough water to cover them. Add the meat and bay leaves, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and let the beans and meat simmer for about an hour.
- Add the corn and continue to simmer for another hour.
- Meanwhile, in a frying pan, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add the chorizo to the frying pan and cook until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
- Add the paprika and cumin to the onion and garlic mixture and cook for a minute.
- Add the onion mixture, bacon, and chorizo to the pot with the beans and corn.
- Simmer for another 30 minutes or until the mixture has thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
